Biological-Diversity

Bio-diversity is the key to healthy ecosystems. We are cultivating a multi layered landscape of food, flora and fauna with the understanding that this builds resilience, encourages symbiosis and productivity amongst all the species that thrive on this land. Puerto Rico’s rich soils and tropical micro-climates give us the unique opportunity to be able to grow virtually anything imaginable and produce multiple crops throughout the year. Food sovereignty is extremely important here given that more than 80% percent of the food supply is imported. One of the solutions that is already taking place is to re-establish an abundant agricultural base by networking with other regenerative farmers growing many different crops across the island in order to offer more fresh alternatives to local communities. We are already distributing some of these products through online sales, shipping and pickup. As we continue to grow, we will have CSA type programs, farmers markets and distribution to health-conscious stores.

Our goal is to propagate numerous high value crops like cacao, vanilla, unique tropical house plants and flowers, Interplanted with nutrient dense foods such as Chaya and Moringa, citrus, avocados, seasonal fruits and vegetables. As well as many medicinal herbs and spices that grow here like turmeric, gingers, cat’s claw, cinnamon, clove and so much more. In addition to seed saving, food preservation and sharing plant species we are building towards an abundant and flourishing community.
